In an effort
to ensure dependability and interoperability of components within WideBand networks,
the WideBand Gigabit Networking Alliance (WGNA) is certifying components and
networking equipment for WideBand standards compliance. The testing standards
are established through the steering committee of the WGNA and define the
minimum levels of performance, the methods of measuring, and the performance
requirements for the measurement tools. WGNA has established the testing
standards for components on the physical layer including cables, plugs, patch
panels, jacks, cross blocks, surge protectors, NICs, concentrators,
accelerators, convertors, severs, and test equipment.
